Whether you are changing career or adding to your existing work, our Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma provides full practitioner diploma training, combining hypnotherapy theory with practical skills for working with clients.
At the Somerset School of Hypnotherapy, you’ll learn in small groups. Steve and Lindsey will teach and guide you throughout the week.

Learn by Doing, With Support Along the Way
You will learn hypnotherapy techniques and practise them with fellow students in our therapy rooms, taking turns as practitioner and client.
Your tutors will explain each technique, guide your practical work and give individual feedback. You can ask questions as you learn how to lead a session and respond to the person you are working with.
With a training manual to refer back to and ongoing support after the course, you can keep developing your skills as you take your next steps into practice.
Understanding Hypnosis
Learn to explain hypnosis clearly, discuss common misconceptions and answer the questions a client may ask.
Guiding a Session
Practise inductions, deepening techniques and suggestions, then learn how to bring a session to a comfortable close.
The First Consultation
Practise asking useful questions, listening carefully and agreeing goals with the person you are working with.
Preparing for Practice
Explore client records, privacy and how to explain your services as you prepare to set up or develop your practice.
Working Responsibly
Learn about consent, professional boundaries, the limits of your training and when to seek further support.
Your Voice and Language
Develop your use of tone, pace and language, and learn to adapt your wording to the person in front of you.

Meet Your Tutors, Steve and Lindsey
Steve and Lindsey have welcomed students to the school since 2014. Both are practising therapists, bringing experience of working with their own clients into the classroom.
You will learn with both tutors during the week. Their different experiences give you the opportunity to ask questions and explore how the techniques are used in practice.

Support After Your Diploma
Questions often arise when you begin using what you have learned. Your fee includes twelve months of tutor support and graduate group membership, so you can ask for guidance and stay connected with fellow graduates.

After the first year, you can choose to continue for £50 a year. Further courses and individual business support are available separately, with any fee agreed before booking.

Is This Course Right for Me?

What Are the Course Hours?
The diploma runs over five weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 4.30 pm. You attend in person at our Somerset training centre.
Do I Need to Take Lots of Notes?
Take notes if they help you. You receive an electronic training manual after the course, so you have material to refer back to as you continue practising.
What Qualification Will I Work Towards?
The Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, through our IPHM accredited training. Read the diploma course details and speak with us about the requirements for completing the course and starting your practice.
Can I Spread the Cost?
Payment options are available for the £975 diploma. You can read the payment options or talk them through with us before choosing how to pay.
What if I Am Nervous About Group Work?
You are welcome to speak privately with your tutors about any concerns. You are not expected to share personal experiences with the group, and physical touch is not required. We can explain the exercises and discuss your boundaries and preferences.
What About Lunch and Parking?
Free parking is available at the school. Please bring your lunch; you can use the kitchenette, fridge and microwave. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available during the day.
